A heart warming story from out of an area of persecution
Our message is from God—it's not religion
Hamid lives in the Middle East and has shared God's Word for over six years. The simple message that "man has many problems and needs help from God" is appealing to many people he meets from around the world.
"People from all nations and cultures come to the Middle East for various reasons and I meet them," he says. "I ask them, 'Are you sure you are going to heaven?' They always say 'I am not sure.' I tell them, 'Christianity as a religion is not a way to God.'
"Then they ask, 'Well how can I go to heaven?' At this point it's easy to share about God's love and forgiveness through the shed blood of Jesus." Hamid says. "Our message is from God—it's not religion. Everything will change when you share the Gospel in this very simple way."
Hamid recalls more than six suicidal people, all very young, that God sent to him so he could share the simple truth of God's love. "The Word of God is really a sword. After a few minutes of using the sword the right way, the heart is pierced and God's love is able to mend it and give it rest from its weariness." he says.
"I met a sheikh from one of the great mosques in the Middle East, and Jesus touched his heart. He accepted Jesus. Another I met was a very dangerous man who used alcohol and drugs. He accepted Jesus and God changed him. The next day, his family saw him reading the Bible. Because of his transformation, his family later came to Jesus. God's Word is very strong.
"It's great to be born again and read about Jesus changing lives, but I am seeing it first hand." says Hamid.
The Middle East is bombarded with turmoil as people cry out for rest. Matthew 11:28 says, "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Jesus offers hope to all who will come to Him. Please pray for God's Word to continue transforming the region, and for many like Hamid, who boldly proclaim Jesus as the way to heaven.
