Treasure From Heaven

It surprises many people to learn that there is a shortage of Bibles in Latin America. You might think that with such a long, strong religious tradition, Latin America would be blanketed with the Word. But this just has not happened.

So many people live in poverty, that Bibles are quite simply out of the reach of the majority of people. Also, their religious tradition is often a veneer for a very shallow faith.

People who say that they believe in God do so without really knowing His Son. There is no teaching or encouragement to meet Him in the Scriptures, and the result is that the following can be seen.

There are 95 million people in Mexico without a relationship with Christ.
There are 40 million people in Colombia without a relationship with Christ.
There are 24 million people in Venezuela without a relationship with Christ.

Nine out of ten believers in Haiti await their own Bible. Hurricanes, a government overthrow, and severe poverty should have shut down the Bible Network ministry there over the past few years, but on the contrary we cannot keep up with the need for Bibles.

Hermison Patino, the man in Colombia who now holds his own Bible for the first time, suffered through depression, joblessness, and witchcraft. His only escape was to drink, and his family suffered terribly. But Gods spirit was at work, preparing both Hermison and a Bible Network trained believer for a Bible study.

Hermison says, From that very first study I knew that Jesus was the bridge we needed to know God. Because of what I heard I actually learned to read and write. I wanted more. Now, the Word of God is my food for every day. My life changed so much, I have been able to keep a job, and my entire family is part of Gods family. Thank you for giving me Treasure From Heaven.

Church leaders from Peru have been crossing the border into Ecuador for some time now. They have heard how Bible Network Scriptures and training has fueled the fire of church growth there, and they are praying to spark a renewal among their people. They need Gods Word, and they want the training our national leaders can offer.

Imagine the joy of a spiritual wanderer as he or she reads the Bible for the first time, and imagine the immense joy as that person comes to know Jesus through the Scriptures. You can help launch a great chain reaction, extending from your heart, through the provision of Gods Word, into the heart of another.

I invite you to pray, and then to find out more about how you can help.
